Dr. Shaun Jones

Dr. Shaun Jones is a specialist anaesthetist who completed his undergraduate medical training through the University of New England & Newcastle University. Prior to commencing anaesthetic training, he completed a Masters of Medicine (Critical Care) through the University of Sydney.

Shaun undertook his anaesthetic training in the Hunter New England area, working across John Hunter Hospital, Maitland Hospital as well as 12 months at Lismore Base Hospital. He subsequently gained further experience completing a fellowship in regional anaesthesia and medical education/simulation at John Hunter Hospital.

Based in Newcastle, Shaun is a Staff Specialist at John Hunter and Belmont Hospitals, as well as working across several private hospitals. His work allows him to maintain skills in a number of subspecialties including trauma, orthopaedics, general surgery and pain management, along with enjoying ongoing contributions to medical education and preparing trainees for their final examinations.

Outside of work Shaun enjoys running, underwater photography and long walks at local golf courses.
