Dr. Danielle White

Dr. Danielle White is a Singleton born and Melbourne trained paediatric and adult specialist anaesthetist. A graduate of Monash University, Dr. White undertook her anaesthetic training with Monash Health, the largest Victorian health care network. Here she gained experience across all the major surgical specialities, including ENT, gynaecology, neurosurgery, general surgery, paediatrics and orthopaedics.

After completing her registrar training, Dr. White undertook a fellowship year at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne. RCH is the major paediatric referral hospital for Victoria, and here Dr. White cared for children undergoing both simple and complex surgeries. She also spent time working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, looking after the youngest patients in the hospital.

At the completion of her training Dr. White moved back home to Newcastle to take up a staff specialist anaesthetist position at the John Hunter Hospital. Here she cares for both children and adults across a broad range of surgical subspecialities. Her special interests include paediatric airway surgery, peri-operative communication and complex vascular access in children.

Dr. White is a Fellow of the Australian College of Anaesthetists, and complies with the continuing professional development requirements of the college. She has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education and is involved in the education of junior doctors and anaesthetic trainees.

Outside of work Danielle enjoys competing in triathlons and sleeping. As a mum of three boys she is well practiced in crowd control and long conversations about Pokémon.
