Dr. Daniel Chilton

Dr. Daniel Chilton is a specialist anaesthetist who completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Newcastle.

Dr. Chilton began his postgraduate training in the Hunter New England area, working in Newcastle, Maitland, and Tamworth. During this time, he completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Ultrasound at Melbourne University. He subsequently gained experience managing complex and critically ill patients through a cardiac anaesthesia fellowship at St Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, Canada, focusing on intra-operative cardiac ultrasound and post-operative cardiac intensive care unit management. As a Conjoint Fellow at The University of Newcastle, he is a dedicated educator and has also completed a fellowship in Simulation and Education at the John Hunter Hospital.

Based in Newcastle, Dr. Chilton is a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist at John Hunter and Belmont Hospitals, as well as working in the private sector. He maintains his skills across a broad range of anaesthetic sub-specialties, with a clinical interest in trauma, thoracics, and airway surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Chilton enjoys surfing at Bar Beach and kite surfing on Lake Macquarie.
