Dr. Annabel Whitaker

Dr. Annabel Whitaker completed her Bachelor of Medicine (Distinction) through the University of New England/University of Newcastle. Prior to starting anaesthetic specialty training, she completed a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (Distinction) at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (UK). She completed her anaesthetic specialty training in the Northern NSW network, working at John Hunter Hospital, Maitland Hospital and Lismore Base Hospital.

Annabel is a staff specialist at John Hunter Hospital, and works across multiple specialty areas including trauma, head and neck surgery/ENT, neurosurgery and obstetrics and gynaecology, plus education and support of trainees and junior colleagues.

Outside of work, Annabel can be found at the beach or hiking trails in summer, or in the snowy mountains during winter.
